Two decades at altitude have taught us one thing: the peaks reward preparation and punish shortcuts. So we engineer for the hardest day of the year.

ALPCREST began in 2004 in a single mountain workshop, founded by engineers who were tired of seeing valley-grade systems fail the moment they were carried above the treeline. Thin air changes everything — combustion, airflow, heat-pump performance and the way a building breathes. Equipment sized for a city apartment simply gives up at 2,000 metres and beyond.
We set out to do it properly. Today we are a tight team of Swiss-certified HVAC engineers, commissioning specialists and year-round service technicians dedicated entirely to high-altitude chalets. We have climate-controlled more than 640 properties across the Alps, from compact family retreats to flagship resort lodges, and every one of them is engineered to perform when the weather is at its worst.
Every project starts with measurement, not assumption. We survey altitude, orientation, exposure, build fabric and how a chalet is actually lived in — full season or the occasional powder weekend. From that we model heat loss, ventilation rates and peak loads, then specify equipment that is rated, not hoped, to deliver. Nothing leaves our commissioning checklist until the airflow is balanced to the last vent and the numbers match the design.
We believe high performance and quiet reliability are the same goal. A system you never have to think about — fresh air every morning, even warmth in every room, clear paths after a blizzard — is the truest sign of good engineering. That is the standard we hold ourselves to on every install.
Honesty in pricing. Precision in execution. And a genuine respect for the mountains we work in — which is why efficiency and low running costs sit at the heart of every system we design. When you live high, your climate system should make the altitude feel effortless.
We also believe a chalet's climate systems should outlast the trends around them. That means choosing equipment for durability as much as performance, documenting every install so it can be maintained properly for decades, and standing behind our work long after handover. Many of the properties we cared for in our earliest years are still on our books today — and that continuity, more than any single project, is the truest measure of work we're proud of.
Work with our engineersLoad and airflow calculations adjusted for thin air and extreme exposure.
Manufacturer-trained engineers across heating, ventilation and controls.
A written performance guarantee backed by year-round servicing.
Fresh air without the heat loss — efficiency built into the core.
An alpine emergency network that turns up, even mid-storm.
Systems modelled to keep energy bills as clean as the air.
From a single retreat to a resort portfolio, our team brings the same altitude-tested precision to every system.
