Dentistry that meets every person where they are
For many people with disability, a clinic is overwhelming. We bring patient, sensory-aware dental care to the calm and familiar surroundings of home or a trusted setting.

A traditional dental clinic can be an overwhelming place — bright lights, unfamiliar sounds, close contact, waiting rooms and time pressure. For people with autism, intellectual disability, sensory sensitivities, anxiety or complex medical needs, these barriers can make a routine check-up impossible, and oral health suffers as a result. SmileRover removes the clinic from the equation entirely, bringing patient, person-centred dental care to the calm, familiar place where each person feels safest.
Care shaped around the individual
There is no one-size-fits-all here. Before a visit, we take the time to understand the person — their communication style, what helps them feel calm, what to avoid, and who they want with them. We can dim or change lighting, reduce noise, allow plenty of time, use visual supports and social stories, and let the person set the pace at every step. Familiar carers, family members and support workers are always welcome, and nothing is rushed or forced. The goal is a positive experience that builds trust, visit after visit.
Our dentists are experienced and genuinely committed to inclusive care. We are comfortable working alongside support plans and other health professionals, and we coordinate with GPs and specialists where a person has complex needs, so dental care fits smoothly into their overall support.
How we make visits work
- Pre-visit planning to understand needs, triggers and what helps
- A controlled, low-sensory environment in a familiar home or setting
- Unhurried appointments with no waiting-room pressure
- Visual supports, clear communication and desensitisation over time
- Coordination with carers, support workers and other health professionals
Accessible, dignified, NDIS-friendly
Good oral health is essential to comfort, nutrition and confidence, yet people with disability face some of the steepest barriers to getting it. We are proud to help close that gap with care that is respectful, flexible and genuinely accessible. Where dental care forms part of a person's plan, we are happy to work in an NDIS-friendly way and provide the documentation families and coordinators need.
Everyone deserves dental care that treats them as a whole person. Talk to us about how we can support the person you care for, on their terms and in their space.
Special Needs Mobile Care — your questions
We plan ahead with you to understand the person's needs, triggers and what helps them feel calm — then shape the environment, timing and support people around that before we arrive.
Always. Familiar people are welcome and encouraged, and we work closely with carers and support workers throughout the visit to keep the person comfortable.
That's completely okay. We never rush or force anything, and we often build trust gradually over several gentle visits — sometimes the first is just about meeting us.
