It is easy to spend all your attention on power, handling and looks and forget that a fast car is also a hard-working machine. Modified and performance engines run hotter, rev harder and live closer to their limits than the cars they came from — which means maintenance is more important, not less. The fastest way to ruin an expensive build is to neglect the basics, and the cheapest insurance you can buy is servicing it properly and on time.
The trouble is that most general workshops are not set up for built cars. They do not know what a particular swap should sound like, what the safe operating temperatures are, which fasteners love to back out, or how a tuned engine should behave cold and hot. We do. Servicing performance and JDM cars is our daily reality, so we know what to look for, what is normal and what is the early warning sign of something about to go wrong.

The right fluids and the right intervals
On a modified car, the fluids are doing a tougher job, and the off-the-shelf service schedule rarely fits. A hard-driven turbo engine, a track car or a high-strung NA build often wants more frequent oil changes with a properly chosen grade, fresh coolant to fight the extra heat, and brake and clutch fluid that can take the abuse. We tailor the service interval and the products to how your car is built and how you drive it, rather than blindly following a factory book written for a different machine.
An oil change is also a perfect opportunity to read the car. We inspect for leaks, listen for noises, check for play, look over the things that vibration and heat tend to loosen, and keep an eye on the wear items that a hard life chews through. Catching a weeping seal, a tired hose or a loose fastener at a routine service is a five-minute fix; finding it on the side of the road, or worse on track, is a very different day.
