Leather Treatment & Coating

Leather that ages beautifully

Leather is a natural material that dries, cracks and stains without care. We deep-clean, condition and coat it to keep it supple, protected and looking rich for years.

Gtechniq L1 Leather Guard 2-year warranty From $290
Leather Treatment & Coating

Leather upholstery is a premium feature that demands premium care. Left untreated, it dries out, loses its colour, develops the dreaded driver's-bolster cracking, and absorbs dye from denim and grime from skin contact. Our leather treatment reverses early damage and protects against the rest, keeping your seats supple, clean and looking the way the manufacturer intended.

We begin with a gentle, pH-balanced deep clean that lifts embedded dirt, body oils and dye transfer from the grain and perforations without stripping the leather's finish. Once clean and dry, we condition the leather to restore moisture and flexibility — critical for preventing the cracks that form where it flexes most. Then we apply Gtechniq L1 Leather Guard, a coating that bonds to the surface and shields it from abrasion, staining, perspiration and UV fade.

What the treatment includes

  • Gentle deep clean of seats, including perforations and seams
  • Removal of dye transfer and surface staining where possible
  • Conditioning to restore suppleness and prevent cracking
  • Application of a protective leather coating against wear and UV
  • Optional treatment of leather door cards, dash and steering wheel

Why coating beats conditioning alone

A condition-only treatment feeds the leather but offers little ongoing defence — within weeks it's exposed again. A coating adds a durable, breathable barrier on top, so jeans dye, sweat and spills sit on the surface instead of soaking in, and routine cleaning becomes a simple wipe-down. For light-coloured leather especially, the coating is the difference between pristine seats and permanently blued bolsters.

Book a standalone leather treatment or add it to a full interior detail, and keep one of your car's best features looking and feeling its best.

FAQ

Leather Treatment & Coating questions

We can clean, condition and protect to halt further damage and improve appearance, but deep cracks or torn leather need repair or re-dyeing, which is a separate restoration service we can advise on.

No. It cures to a natural matte-satin finish that preserves the original look and feel — it simply adds invisible protection.

We recommend a clean and condition every six to twelve months, with the coating refreshed every couple of years for ongoing protection.
