The system uses an Er,Cr:YSGG laser tuned to a wavelength that water and hydroxyapatite absorb intensely. A continuously refreshed spray of atomised water sits in the beam's path; the laser energises those droplets, and the resulting micro-expansions gently ablate decayed tooth, bone or soft tissue. This process, known as hydrokinetics, cuts precisely while keeping the tissue cool and hydrated.
