Heating Systems

Modern heating is a transfer problem, and transfer is far cheaper than combustion. A well-specified reverse-cycle or heat-pump system returns a coefficient of performance between three and five — for every kilowatt of electricity it draws, it delivers three to five kilowatts of heat into the building. KLIMAWERK designs heating around that physics, selecting equipment rated for low ambient performance so output holds even on the coldest mornings rather than collapsing when you need it most.

Design starts with the building's heat-loss profile. We model fabric losses through walls, roof and glazing, account for ventilation and infiltration, and size the system to the calculated demand with a defined margin — never the rule-of-thumb oversizing that leaves systems cycling and rooms unevenly warmed. For larger or multi-zone properties we specify ducted heat pumps or hydronic-ready units, with zoning so heat is delivered only where and when it is wanted.

Installation discipline matches our cooling work: structural mounting, sealed and insulated line sets, logged vacuum and pressure tests, and calibrated controls. We pay particular attention to defrost behaviour and condensate management on heat-pump outdoor units, because poor drainage in cold weather is the most common cause of nuisance faults. Outdoor units are sited for airflow and serviceability, not simply hidden.

Control is the difference between a heater and a heating system. We program weekly schedules, set comfort and economy bands, and where the equipment allows, enable weather-compensated or adaptive-start logic so the building reaches setpoint at the moment you arrive rather than running hard for hours beforehand. Smart-thermostat and app control are configured and explained, not just handed over in a box.

The outcome is heating that is quiet, even and genuinely economical — comfort measured in degrees held and dollars saved. Each system is documented with its commissioning figures and covered by labour and manufacturer warranties. Whether you are warming a single living space or an entire commercial floor, the engineering principle does not change: move heat efficiently, control it intelligently, and prove the numbers on paper before we leave the site.
