Heavy power, handled with care

Industrial facilities run on high-voltage systems, complex machinery and continuous operational cycles. Aura Illumination brings the technical depth and licensed expertise to keep your plant powered, safe and productive.

Industrial electrical work is in a category of its own. The voltages are higher, the equipment is heavier, the consequences of error are more serious, and the regulatory requirements are more demanding. At Aura Illumination, our industrial team brings genuine expertise in three-phase and high-voltage systems, motor control, switchgear and the rigorous documentation that industrial clients require. We work alongside your engineering and maintenance teams as a trusted extension of your capability.

High-voltage and three-phase installations

From large distribution transformers and high-voltage switchrooms to three-phase motor circuits and variable-speed drives, we design and install systems that meet the full demands of your operation. Every installation is preceded by a detailed load study so that cable sizing, protection devices and switchgear ratings are correctly matched to your equipment — not undersized to save cost, not oversized to pad a budget.

We coordinate closely with network operators for new supply connections and upgrades, managing the technical submissions, metering installations and energisation hold points that can otherwise stall a project. Where demand charges are a significant cost driver, we work with your energy manager to structure supply agreements and load profiles that reduce peak demand penalties.

Motor control centres and automation panels

Motor control centres are the workhorses of industrial automation. We build, install and commission MCC panels to your exact specifications, integrating soft starters, variable frequency drives, PLC interfaces and SCADA connections as required. Our panel builders work to detailed engineering drawings and issue full as-built documentation, ITP records and test reports on completion.

Core industrial electrical capabilities

  • High-voltage switchroom construction, maintenance and testing
  • Three-phase power reticulation and sub-distribution systems
  • Motor control centre design, build and commissioning
  • Hazardous area electrical installations (Ex-rated equipment)
  • Thermographic scanning and power quality analysis

Thermographic scanning is standard practice in well-managed industrial facilities. Loose connections, failing contacts and overloaded conductors generate heat long before they generate faults. We carry calibrated infrared cameras and provide detailed thermal inspection reports that your maintenance team can act on before an unplanned shutdown occurs.

Compliance, documentation and safety

Industrial electrical work in Australia is subject to strict licensing and notification requirements. We hold the relevant electrical contractor licences for high-voltage work and operate under a documented safety management system aligned with AS/NZS 4836 and the relevant state electrical safety legislation. Every project generates a complete set of as-built drawings, test records and compliance declarations. We do not cut corners on documentation because we know your insurers, auditors and regulators will ask for it.

Planned shutdowns and turnaround maintenance

Planned shutdowns are one of the most valuable windows an industrial site has. We mobilise efficiently, work to your shutdown schedule, and complete electrical maintenance, upgrades and inspections within the allotted window so production can resume on time. Our team is experienced in working within permit-to-work systems and integrated multi-trade shutdown environments.

Good to know

Are you licensed for high-voltage electrical work? +

Yes. Our industrial team holds the relevant electrical contractor licences required for high-voltage installations and maintenance in Queensland. All high-voltage work is carried out by appropriately licensed individuals under a documented safe work method statement.

Can you help us reduce our demand charges? +

We can conduct a power quality and load profile analysis to identify where peak demand is occurring and what practical measures — such as load scheduling, power factor correction or storage systems — can reduce your metered demand. We work with your energy manager to make recommendations that are operationally realistic.

Do you work within our existing permit-to-work system? +

Yes. We are experienced in working within site-specific permit-to-work and isolation management systems. Before mobilising for any project, our team reviews your safety documentation requirements and ensures our safe work method statements align with your site rules.
