Nothing wasted, everything recovered.
Solar should not end in landfill. NexusCore operates a circular-economy recovery program that decommissions, transports and processes end-of-life modules, reclaiming glass, aluminium, silicon and silver back into productive use.

Australia installed solar faster than almost anywhere on earth, and the first large waves of those panels are now reaching end of life. Treating them as waste is both an environmental failure and an economic one, because a photovoltaic module is dense with recoverable value. NexusCore runs a circular-economy program that captures that value: we safely decommission ageing arrays, transport them under chain of custody, and route them through processing that separates and reclaims the constituent materials rather than burying them.
A standard module is roughly three-quarters glass and aluminium by weight, with smaller but valuable quantities of silicon, copper and silver bound inside. Our recovery process targets each stream. Frames are stripped and the aluminium returned to smelters. Glass is separated and reprocessed. The laminate is treated to liberate silicon wafers and precious metals for refining. The result is a high material-recovery rate and a dramatic reduction in the embodied carbon of the next generation of panels that use reclaimed feedstock.
Our recovery process
- On-site decommissioning and safe isolation by accredited technicians
- Chain-of-custody logistics with full tracking from removal to processing
- Mechanical separation of glass, aluminium frame and junction components
- Thermal and chemical treatment to recover silicon, copper and silver
- Material-recovery and diversion-from-landfill reporting for your records
Compliance and traceability
End-of-life electronics carry real regulatory and reputational weight, and panels increasingly fall under product-stewardship expectations. Our program gives you documented, auditable proof that your assets were handled responsibly. Every batch is tracked, weighed and reported, so you can demonstrate landfill diversion to regulators, investors and sustainability frameworks. For organisations with ESG commitments, this traceable evidence turns a disposal obligation into a measurable circular-economy achievement you can report with confidence.
Designed for the whole lifecycle
Recycling is the closing chapter of a strategy we think about from the start. When NexusCore designs a generation and storage system, we plan for its eventual recovery, choosing components and documenting specifications so that decommissioning decades later is clean and efficient. This whole-lifecycle view means your investment in clean energy never quietly becomes a future waste liability; it remains part of a loop where today's panels become tomorrow's raw materials.
Retire your old array the right way. Arrange a NexusCore collection and keep your materials in circulation, not in landfill.
Panel Recycling questions
Yes. Our recovery program accepts modules regardless of original installer or manufacturer. We assess the array, handle safe decommissioning and transport, and process the panels through our recovery stream, providing the same chain-of-custody documentation no matter where the panels originally came from.
Modern processing recovers the large majority of a module by weight, with glass and aluminium being the highest-volume streams and silicon, copper and silver recovered in smaller but valuable quantities. Exact recovery rates vary by panel type and condition, which we report per batch rather than estimate generically.
Absolutely. Every collection comes with material-recovery and landfill-diversion reporting tied to your specific assets. This documentation supports ESG disclosures, product-stewardship obligations and internal sustainability targets, turning responsible disposal into evidence you can include in formal reporting.
We arrange logistics for regional and remote sites as well as metropolitan ones, consolidating loads where practical to keep transport efficient. Lead times and handling depend on location and volume, which we confirm when scheduling your collection so there are no surprises.
