Cooling & Radiator Service

Of all the systems in your car, the cooling system is the one that punishes neglect most severely. An engine that overheats even once can warp its cylinder head or blow a head gasket, turning a minor coolant leak into one of the most expensive repairs a car can need. The Fleet Concierge keeps that from happening by catching cooling problems early and repairing them on-site — before a small leak becomes a destroyed engine.

What the cooling system does

Your engine produces enormous heat, and the cooling system's job is to carry that heat away and hold the engine at its ideal operating temperature. It is a sealed network of coolant, hoses, a radiator, a water pump and a thermostat, all working under pressure. When any one component fails — a perished hose, a corroded radiator, a worn pump or a stuck thermostat — temperatures can climb fast. We service and repair every part of it:

  • Pressure testing to pinpoint coolant leaks
  • Radiator inspection, repair and replacement
  • Water pump and thermostat replacement
  • Hose, clamp and cap replacement
  • Coolant flush and refill with the correct specification coolant
  • Cooling-fan and temperature-sensor testing

Catch it before it costs you an engine

Cooling faults give warning signs if you are paying attention: the temperature gauge creeping higher than normal, sweet-smelling steam from under the bonnet, a coolant warning light, puddles of green, pink or orange fluid under the car, or needing to top up coolant regularly. Any of these warrants an inspection. The cost of a hose or a thermostat is trivial next to the cost of a head gasket — and catching the problem early is the entire difference between the two.

If your temperature gauge is climbing into the red right now, the safest move is to stop, switch off and let the engine cool — continuing to drive an overheating engine can wreck it in minutes. Then call us, and we will come to assess it rather than risking further damage on a drive to the workshop.

Coolant is a service item, not 'set and forget'

Coolant does more than stop your engine boiling — it also prevents freezing, lubricates the water pump and, crucially, contains corrosion inhibitors that protect the metal inside your engine and radiator. Those inhibitors deplete over time, which is why coolant should be flushed and replaced at the manufacturer's recommended interval. Old, exhausted coolant lets corrosion build up internally, clogging the radiator and shortening the life of the whole system. We use the correct coolant specification for your vehicle and never mix incompatible types.

A healthy cooling system is cheap insurance against the most catastrophic and avoidable engine failures. If your car runs hot, loses coolant or is overdue for a flush, book an inspection and protect the most expensive component in your car.

FAQ

Cooling & Radiator Service questions

Stop safely as soon as you can, switch the engine off and let it cool. Don't keep driving — overheating can destroy an engine quickly. Then call us to assess it on-site.

It depends on your vehicle and coolant type, but most need a flush and refill every few years. Old coolant loses its corrosion protection. We'll advise your car's correct interval.

Yes. We pressure-test the system on-site to pinpoint the leak, then repair hoses, radiators, pumps or thermostats as needed — most on the same visit.

Inspection and diagnosis start from $149, with any parts and repairs quoted clearly before we proceed. Catching it early is always far cheaper than an engine repair.
