Nothing on a heavy vehicle matters more than its ability to stop. A loaded B-double carries enormous momentum, and the air brake system that has to control it is a complex network of compressors, tanks, valves, chambers, slack adjusters and foundation brakes — all of which wear, leak and age. When any part of that system is out of adjustment or past its best, stopping distances stretch, the truck can pull to one side, and you are one emergency stop away from a very bad day. Brake work is not where you cut corners, and it is not where we do.
