A second life for your engine
A tired or failed engine does not always mean a new truck. Our engine builders carry out in-frame and full rebuilds to factory tolerances — restoring power, economy and reliability for a fraction of the cost of replacement.

The engine is the single most expensive component in your truck, and when it starts to let go — blowing oil, dropping compression, knocking, overheating or simply burning fuel like it owns a refinery — the decision you face is significant. Replace the whole truck, drop in a costly factory exchange engine, or rebuild the one you have. For a great many high-kilometre rigs, a properly executed rebuild is by far the smartest commercial decision: it restores the engine to as-new performance at a fraction of the cost of a new vehicle, and it lets you get full value out of a truck you already know and trust.
Our engine builders are heavy-diesel specialists, not generalists. We carry out both in-frame overhauls — where the work is done with the engine still in the chassis — and full out-of-frame rebuilds for engines that need to be stripped completely. Every rebuild is done methodically: the engine is dismantled, every component is measured and inspected, worn and out-of-tolerance parts are replaced with quality components, machining is carried out where needed, and the whole assembly is rebuilt to the manufacturer's tolerances and torque specifications. Nothing is guessed and nothing is bodged.
What a rebuild can include
- In-frame overhauls — liners, pistons, rings, bearings and seals
- Full out-of-frame strip, inspection, machining and rebuild
- Cylinder head reconditioning, valve and injector work
- Crankshaft inspection, regrind and bearing replacement
- Turbocharger, oil pump and water pump renewal as required
- Full run-up, pressure testing and road test before handover
Honest advice before you spend a cent
Not every engine is worth rebuilding, and we will tell you straight if yours is not. Before any work begins we carry out a thorough assessment — compression and blow-by testing, oil analysis, a careful inspection — and give you an honest verdict. If the block is cracked beyond repair or the economics simply do not stack up, we will say so and talk you through the alternatives. When a rebuild does make sense, you get a detailed, fixed quote so you know exactly what you are committing to before the spanners come out.
Built to work, backed by warranty
A rebuild from our workshop is not a gamble. We use quality parts, we build to specification, and we test every engine thoroughly before it leaves — running it up, checking pressures and temperatures, and road-testing the truck under load. Every rebuild is backed by a workmanship and parts warranty, so you can put the truck straight back into service with confidence. Many of the engines we have rebuilt have gone on to do hundreds of thousands of trouble-free kilometres.
Before you write off a truck over its engine, get a second opinion from people who build them for a living. Book an assessment and we'll give you the honest numbers.
Diesel Engine Rebuilds questions
Almost always. A quality rebuild typically costs a fraction of a factory exchange engine and a small fraction of replacing the whole truck, while restoring as-new performance. We'll show you the numbers for your specific engine.
It depends on the engine and whether it's an in-frame or full out-of-frame job, but we give you a realistic timeline up front and keep you updated throughout so you can plan around it.
Yes. Every rebuild is backed by a parts and workmanship warranty, and we run-up, pressure-test and road-test the engine before handover so it goes back to work with confidence.
