The heart of any touring rig is its electrical system. Get it right and you can run a fridge, lighting, a water pump, a diesel heater and all your charging for days at a remote camp without a second thought. Get it wrong and you are nursing a flat battery, rationing the fridge and jump starting in the dark. We design and build complete 12V touring systems around how you actually camp, then install them to a standard that survives years of corrugations and water crossings.

At the core we fit Redarc and CTEK DC-DC chargers. A DC-DC charger is essential on modern vehicles because their smart alternators do not put out enough voltage to fully charge an auxiliary battery through a simple isolator. The DC-DC unit boosts and regulates the charge so your auxiliary battery actually reaches full, and many models accept solar at the same time and switch seamlessly between alternator and panel input. Just as importantly, it isolates your auxiliary battery from your starting battery, so you can run the fridge and lights all night and still know the vehicle will start in the morning.

Lithium or AGM, sized to your habits

Lithium batteries deliver far more usable capacity for their weight, charge faster and tolerate being deeply discharged every day, which makes them ideal for long off-grid stays and weight-conscious builds. Quality AGM batteries remain a cost-effective, robust choice for weekend tourers and cold climates. We size the bank around your real daily draw, factoring your fridge, lighting, pumps and device charging, so you have genuine headroom rather than a battery that is flat by morning.

Solar, inverters and a tidy install

We add roof-mounted or portable solar with proper MPPT regulation so your bank tops up while you explore, and pure sine wave inverters where you need to run mains appliances, laptops or camera gear. Just as important is the install itself. We use correctly rated cable, fused distribution, sealed connectors and tidy routing so the system handles vibration, heat and water crossings without nuisance faults years down the track. Cheap cable that is too thin for the load drops voltage and runs hot, which is why we size every run for the current it carries.

A great touring rig is not just about capacity, it is about living with the system day to day. We lay out a clear control panel with a battery monitor so you can see your state of charge at a glance, position your fridge, drawers and charging points where they make sense, and label your circuits so you always know what is on.
