Protect the bits that get you home
Bash plates, rock sliders and diff guards shield your engine, gearbox, fuel tank and sills from the rocks and stumps that end trips and cost thousands.

Everything that keeps your vehicle running lives underneath it, and out on the tracks that is exactly where the rocks, stumps and ruts are waiting. A single hit to a sump, a transfer case or a fuel tank can leave you stranded hundreds of kilometres from help with a repair bill to match. Underbody armour spreads and deflects those impacts so your vitals survive the track and you drive home under your own power. It is cheap insurance for an expensive vehicle.
We fit a layered protection package tailored to where you travel. Front bash plates shield the radiator, sump and steering, a transmission and transfer case plate protects your driveline, and a fuel tank guard stops a rock from holing your tank. We use steel where ultimate protection matters and aluminium where saving weight is the priority, and we make sure the plates allow service access and proper airflow. The plates also work as skids, letting the vehicle slide over a ledge or stump rather than catching and stopping you dead, which makes technical sections far less stressful to tackle.
Rock sliders that take a beating
Rock sliders are far more than fancy side steps. Mounted directly to the chassis, a proper slider protects your sills and door bottoms from rock damage and gives you a solid point to pivot the vehicle over obstacles or to jack from in a recovery. We fit sliders that are rated to take the full weight of the vehicle, with the strength to slide along a rock ledge without folding. Flimsy bolt-on steps will crumple the first time you lean on them.
- Front bash plates protecting radiator, sump and steering
- Transmission and transfer case underbody guards
- Steel fuel tank protection plates
- Chassis-mounted rock sliders rated to vehicle weight
- Differential and CV guards for rocky terrain
- Steel and aluminium options to balance strength and weight
Diff guards and the details
Your differentials hang low and take direct hits in rocky country, and a cracked diff housing means an oil-out and a long walk. We fit diff guards that deflect impacts away from the housing and cover plate. We also pay attention to the details that matter, retaining drain access for servicing, keeping water crossing breathers clear and making sure nothing we add reduces your ground clearance or compromises your recovery angles. A plate that traps mud and water against your driveline does more harm than good, so ventilation and drainage are part of every design we fit.
Weight, fit and finish
Armour is heavy, so we are honest about how much you actually need and where aluminium can save weight without giving up real protection. We bolt to factory mounting points wherever possible and reinforce where required, so the plates take a hit and pass the load into the chassis rather than tearing away. Everything is finished to resist corrosion, because underbody gear lives in mud, salt and water its whole life. A well-fitted armour package should look like it came from the factory and survive years of abuse without rattling loose or rusting through.
We can also stage your armour to suit a budget, starting with the most exposed components like the sump and fuel tank and adding sliders and diff guards as your trips get more ambitious. There is no sense armouring a vehicle for rock crawling if you only run graded gravel, just as there is no sense heading into the high country with a bare sump. Where you wheel decides how much armour you need. Tell us about your tracks and we will recommend a protection package that lets you tackle them without holding your breath over every rock or stump in the trail.
Underbody Armour & Sliders questions
If you stick to graded dirt roads, a front bash plate may be plenty. Once you tackle rocky tracks, washouts or technical terrain, adding transfer case, fuel tank and diff protection becomes worthwhile. We tailor the package to your tracks.
Steel offers the toughest protection and is great for serious rock work, while aluminium saves significant weight that helps your payload and suspension. Many builds mix the two, using steel where impacts are worst and aluminium elsewhere.
Quality rock sliders can double as a step, but their main job is protecting your sills and giving a strong pivot and jacking point. We fit chassis-mounted sliders rated to hold the vehicle's weight, not flimsy bolt-on side steps.
