What AS/NZS 3760 actually requires
The standard covers the in-service safety inspection and testing of electrical equipment connected via a plug and socket. It sets out visual inspection procedures, electrical tests including earth continuity, insulation resistance, and polarity, and specifies testing intervals that depend on the environment — a construction site has much shorter intervals than a general office, for example.
When we test each item we attach a colour-coded tag showing the test date, the next due date, and the result. Failed items are removed from service or flagged for repair.
