Dyno Tuning

Real numbers. Repeatable runs.

Dyno Tuning

The dyno is where opinions end and numbers begin. Guesswork and street tuning can only take you so far, and neither shows you what is really happening inside the engine under full load. On our in-house Mainline dyno we tune with air-fuel ratio and knock watched the whole way, so your car leaves making real, repeatable power that it can hold together, backed by before-and-after graphs that show exactly what changed.

In-House Mainline Dyno

Having a Mainline dyno on the floor means we tune under proper, controlled load rather than chasing a moving target on the street. We can hold the engine at specific loads and rpm to fine-tune fuel and timing exactly where the car spends its time, not just during a quick pull. Consistent conditions mean the changes we make are real and measurable, and repeat runs confirm the tune is stable rather than a lucky one-off. It is the difference between a map that feels alright on the drive home and one that is genuinely dialled in across the whole operating range.

AFR And Knock Monitored

Peak power figures are easy to chase and easy to get wrong if you are not watching the two things that actually matter. We monitor air-fuel ratio to keep the mixture safe under load, and watch for knock the entire time, because detonation is what quietly destroys pistons and rings long before anything sounds wrong. Timing is advanced only as far as the engine will safely take it, and fuelling is set to protect the engine where cylinder pressure peaks. The result is a tune that makes strong, usable power and is built to survive, not one that looks great on paper and lets go a month later.

Before And After Graphs

You should be able to see exactly what your money bought, so every tune comes with graphs showing the power and torque before and after the work. That baseline and final plot make the gains real, show where the engine picked up through the rev range, and give you a documented record of how your car performs. It also gives us a reference for any future work, so the next upgrade builds on known figures rather than a hazy memory. No hand-waving, no inflated claims, just a clear picture of what your engine actually makes on the rollers.

Health Checked First

We will not chase big numbers on an engine that is not ready for them, because a hard dyno session is no place to discover a boost leak, weak fuel supply or an engine that is already tired. Before we start winding in timing and boost, we check the basics, watch the datalogs and make sure the car is healthy and safe to push. If something is not right, we stop and tell you rather than tuning around a problem and handing back a grenade. That means the power you leave with is not just big, it is built on an engine we are confident can actually hold it together.

Book a dyno session and see your car tuned for real, safe, repeatable power with the graphs to prove it.
