Built to keep you in one piece
Speed means nothing without safety. We design and weld roll cages and fit harnesses and seats to the standards your category and your life demand.

Every other service we offer is about going faster. This one is about being there for the next session. A roll cage is the single most important component in a track car, and unlike a lap time, you only find out if it was built right on the worst day of your motorsport life. We build ours as if that day is coming, because for someone, eventually, it does.
At XTC Motorsport we design and weld roll cages in-house, and we fit harnesses and seats as a complete restraint system rather than a box-ticking exercise. A cage, a seat and a harness only protect you when they work together, and getting that integration right is craft, not catalogue shopping.
Designed to the right standard
Before a tube is bent, we confirm which standard your build must meet. A CAMS or Motorsport Australia logbook car, a club track-day vehicle and a road-registered build all carry different requirements, and a cage that is not compliant is worse than useless because it can void your eligibility and your insurance.
We design to your category specifications, document the build, and make sure the cage will pass scrutineering before you ever load the car onto a trailer.
Fabricated in-house
Cages live and die on the quality of the joints and the accuracy of the bends. We fabricate in-house so we control every step, from material selection to the final weld, rather than handing the most important part of your car to an unknown third party.
- Multi-point roll cages to CAMS, Motorsport Australia and club specs
- CDS and chrome-moly tube selection matched to category rules
- Notched, mandrel-bent joints with full-penetration welds
- FIA-rated competition seats with correct mounting and side support
- Multi-point harnesses fitted to the correct geometry and angles
- Window nets, harness bars and gusseting where required
A complete restraint system
A seat bolted in at the wrong angle, or a harness mounted to a point that was never designed to take the load, can do more harm than good in an incident. We fit the seat, harness and cage as one integrated system, paying close attention to belt angles, mounting strength and the position of your body relative to the structure around it.
We also think about egress, because the ability to get out quickly matters as much as staying put on impact. Every consult includes a frank conversation about how you use the car and what level of protection is appropriate.
Planning a build? Book a fabrication consult and we will design a cage to your category specs, fitted as part of a complete restraint system built to keep you in one piece.
Roll Cage & Safety Fab questions
It depends on the cage design and your state's regulations. Some configurations are acceptable on a road-registered car while others are strictly for competition use, and padding requirements differ too. We confirm your intended use up front and design to the standard that keeps your car both safe and legal for how you run it.
Yes, and that is exactly how we work. We establish which standard applies, whether CAMS, Motorsport Australia or a specific club requirement, before any fabrication begins, and we document the build so it satisfies scrutineers. We would rather get the specification right on day one than rework a finished cage.
In most cases, yes, because a cage, seat and harness are designed to work as one restraint system. A standard seat and inertia-reel belt will not position or hold you correctly alongside a competition cage. We assess your whole setup and recommend the seat and harness that complete the package safely.
