Structured Cabling Design and Installation
We design and install structured cabling systems compliant with AS/NZS 11801 and EIA/TIA-568 standards. For horizontal runs, Cat6A is our default specification — its augmented Category 6 shielding eliminates alien crosstalk and supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet over the full 100-metre channel length. In high-density environments such as open-plan offices, co-working spaces, and multi-tenancy commercial buildings, we use individually screened (STP) Cat6A to further suppress interference from adjacent cable bundles. Every outlet, every patch panel port, and every rack position is labelled in accordance with a site-specific naming convention we document in your as-built drawings, delivered on completion.
For backbone connectivity between comms rooms, floors, or buildings, we install OM4 multimode fibre optic cable capable of 100 Gigabit Ethernet over distances up to 150 metres, and single-mode OS2 fibre where runs exceed that or where future 400GbE headroom is required. All fibre terminations are fusion-spliced, not mechanically joined, and tested with an OTDR to verify attenuation values are within specification. We supply patch panel breakout solutions using pre-terminated MPO trunk cables where speed of deployment matters, and field-terminated LC duplex solutions where flexibility during fitout is the priority.
Network Rack and Comms Room Build-Outs
A clean comms room is the signature of a quality cabling contractor. We supply and install 19-inch open-frame and enclosed server racks from 6U wall-mount units right through to 47U floor-standing configurations. Inside each rack, we plan cable management with horizontal and vertical cable managers, velcro bundling, and colour-coded patch leads so any technician can trace a fault in minutes. We install and label structured patch panels, 1U PDUs, blanking plates, and earthing rails as standard. Where your fit-out requires, we can also install cooling solutions, environmental sensors, and cabinet-level power monitoring.

Power over Ethernet Infrastructure
Modern IP ecosystems rely heavily on Power over Ethernet to deliver both data and power to access points, IP PABX handsets, PTZ cameras, and smart lighting controllers over a single cable. PoE+ (802.3at) delivers up to 30 watts per port, while the newer PoE++ (802.3bt) standard reaches 90 watts — enough to power high-resolution PTZ cameras, thin-client workstations, and digital signage displays. We calculate the aggregate PoE budget for your switch infrastructure and ensure horizontal cabling thermal ratings are respected, particularly in bundled conduit runs where heat dissipation is critical. What is the difference between Cat6 and Cat6A cabling?
Cat6A (Augmented Category 6) supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet across the full 100-metre channel length, whereas standard Cat6 is limited to 10GbE at shorter distances (typically under 55 metres). Cat6A also has tighter alien crosstalk controls, making it the right choice for new commercial installations where longevity and headroom matter.
How long does a typical structured cabling installation take?
A single-floor office fit-out of 20–30 data outlets generally takes one to two days depending on ceiling access and conduit routing complexity. Larger multi-floor projects are scoped individually with a detailed programme issued before work commences. We work out of hours where live business operations require it.
Do you provide test certification reports?
Yes. Every copper run is tested with a Fluke DSX-800 analyser and every fibre link with an OTDR. You receive printed and PDF-format test reports for every link, along with as-built drawings and panel schedules. These reports are required for most manufacturer channel warranties.
Can you install cabling in an occupied building without disrupting staff?
Absolutely. We schedule disruptive work — such as core drilling or ceiling tile removal — outside business hours. Cable-pulling and termination work in accessible areas can generally proceed during the day with minimal impact.
